Trying to Think Positive

Sue's blog made me feel guilty....so, I am going to try to find 5 positive things to say.
1. I didn't spill my lunch on myself today.

2. I have an indoor bathroom and my toilet flushes.

3. It has been raining in Abilene.

4. I can go to bed in about 3 and a half hours.

Okay, I couldn't up with number 5. I am usually an optomist but life is weighing me down. I will try again tomorrow.

Isn't She Beautiful?

I haven't posted Ava pictures for a long time but I thought I would for those of you who don't have facebook.
These pictures were taken in June at my mom's house. I wish that I could see her right now.

sacred harp music

This is part of my history. We know the parts of history that are aristocratic or concerning the people in power. This is a part of the history of the common man. I love it and I love the intensity in which they sing.

I Live an "I Love Lucy" Life

Yes, I do love my Lucy but that is not what I mean.
What I mean is my life is sometimes very similar to Lucy's on the "I Love Lucy Show". Life is never boring but can be embarrassing.
One example.
Friday morning I was leaving for work. Dressed in a skirt. I walked out to my car and saw that my next door neighbor was watering his grass. He had been gone for about a month so I stopped and talked to him. I got to my car and my neighbor is still watering his grass and I got in...but while I was getting in my car, I dropped my key. I dropped down headfirst to pick it up...both hands on the ground and still sitting in my car. Remember I am still wearing a skirt. Now I have both hands on the ground and suddenly realize that it will be very difficult to get back into my car and pick up the key. I pick up the key and toss it gently into the pocket on the side of the door. Now I try to push myself back up...not going to happen. I am thinking about how crazy this all must look but I can't roll out of the car to correct the situation without exposing myself to my neighbor. Eventually I am able to push myself back up to the upright position...so funny and I laughed my way to work. Not really sure what the neighbor saw...

Another Wedding

Today another wedding took place. We didn't get to go but it took place in Chattanooga. Grant Norvell got married. I love Grant. Grant has made me laugh, made me think, comforted me, talked me to a different place and made me feel welcome. I love Grant. Grant has had crazy hair some of the time that I have known him. He can entertain a crowd of children or a crowd of adults. He reads alot. He is passionate about life. His laugh is contagious.
Grant married Bethany tonight. I don't know Bethany but I know she must be amazing to be marrying Grant. I can't wait to meet her one day.
I wish Grant and Bethany many adventures, tolerance for each other and those around them, growth together, deeper relationships with the creator, children to make them more of a family and to give them new adventures, conversation filled with the Spirit, more reading, comfort from each others' presence, and a place in the Kingdom story.
