jen lemen

If you ever need encouragement or just an honest voice go to read jen's blog....http://jenlemen.com/blog/....She always makes me think and lightens my load. She is searching and creating and parenting and making mistakes and helping her neighbors and...
I love her art...
I have some of her artwork in my house and I go to it when I am feeling stressed and light a candle. As I walk by the candle later in the day or evening it takes my mind back to that place of peace.

Sherry, I went to your website. Cute cards! I knew that you were crafty but I didn't know how seriously crafty you were.
I really do miss you and would love to get together with you sometime soon.
I did hear from someone that you weren't working at Regional anymore. I miss all the nurses that we worked with there.

julie--that second piece is something i did for a young woman i met in a forced labor (re: slavery) situation. she came here hoping to make enough money to feed her children back home in africa, but so far her employers will only give her $200 a month which hardly covers her expenses here.

the situation is complicated, but lately my friend has been smiling--"i have options," she told me. "and that makes me feel good."

i have to tell these stories in the comment section only because high profile attention will not help her at all right now, but someday, someday, i will tell all these stories--out loud and with women like this by my side. :)

thought you might appreciate the backstory. blessings.

jen, thanks so much for the background story. You know that I love a story and particularly a story with hope and redemption in it.
I just had to share your artwork with my circle of friends...you amaze me and I have loved our weird friendship...from online to Cedar Ridge to email world and then to our connection with Sally.
Thanks for letting me into your world.
much love to you!!!
